    Freedom of Information Act

    The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) provides the public access to records maintained by the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (DNFSB). An individual can submit a FOIA request for records held or believed to be held by the DNFSB. The FOIA requires federal agencies to provide records unless exempt from disclosure as defined in the Act. Written requests can be submitted by mail, by e-mail, or by visiting FOIA.gov.

    These guidelines describe DNFSB's policy for ensuring the quality of information that it disseminates to the public and sets forth the administrative procedure by which an affected person may obtain correction of disseminated information.

    The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) provides a confidential means for any individual to report incidents of fraud, waste, abuse, and employee or management misconduct. Individuals are also encouraged to report concerns regarding mismanagement of agency programs or dangers to public health and safety.

    No FEAR Act

    On May 15, 2002, Congress enacted the "Notification and Federal Employee Antidiscrimination and Retaliation Act of 2002," which is now known as the No FEAR Act. The No FEAR Act is intended to "require that federal agencies be accountable for violations of antidiscrimination and whistleblower protection laws."
