Summer Scholars Program
The Summer Scholars Program offers summer internships to highly motivated, academically successful college juniors and seniors. The Program also serves as the primary source of candidates for the Board’s renown Professional Development Program (PDP), a competitive 3-year entry-level program in which employees attend graduate school (with full tuition and full salary) and participate in a 1-year field assignment. Students selected to participate in the Summer Scholars Program receive competitive salaries, vacation and sick leave, a technical mentor, and structured technical work assignments.
For current undergraduates pursuing a degree in a technical or engineering field, the DNFSB offers excellent opportunities to get some out-of-the-classroom experience in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Earthquake Engineering (Civil Engineering), Electrical Engineering and Engineering Physics. Our primary program for undergraduate college students is our Summer Scholars Program.
